As we settle into 2025, I hope you have looked back on the past 12 months with gratitude for the memories had, friends made and adventures taken. Then, look forward to the opportunity 2025 holds for us all. What do you want to look back on 12 months from now?
For us at Shelby County Newsmedia, we hope to look back on the successful launch of one of our newest publications, Leeds Living! Beginning in June 2025, this lifestyle magazine will cover the people, places and events, which make Leeds special. From longtime downtown staples to newer establishments at Grand River, each quarterly issue will feature chefs and restaurateurs who help feed the city as well as local artists and musicians. Beautiful houses alongside the people who call them home will also grace the pages next to students, teachers and administrators who compose the heart of The Greenwave.
The inaugural issue will also announce the winners of the first annual Best of Leeds. Our team is already hard at work preparing to launch the competition in early 2025. We look forward to seeing what people, places and events you vote as your favorites in the community.
You can also anticipate our holiday gift guide, filled with the trendiest local shopping picks, later in the year. That will be followed by the beloved wedding issue, which will highlight real couples of Leeds. (Be on the lookout for more information on that if you are recently or about to be married.)
Overall, I am personally looking forward to telling each of your stories as I become more acquainted with this wonderful community. Feel free to reach out if you know of someone with an interesting story to tell as I would love to be the one to tell it. Additionally, if you have a knack for telling others’ stories or capturing them with a camera, I would love to chat about that.
